On Friday, Williams-Sonoma Inc. will open its first home outlet store on the West Coast, and it happens to be in Vacaville’s Power Plaza.

The leasing of the Williams-Sonoma Home Outlet is part of the continuing efforts of Power Plaza’s managing firm, ProEquity Asset Management, to fill the vacancies in a shopping center that has seen its share over the years. Prior to ProEquity’s purchase in December of last year, the two biggest anchor spaces were filled by a Restoration Hardware Outlet and Sprouts Farmers Market. The firm, along with its leasing agent JLL, has made a commitment to invest in its anchor stores and fill its remaining vacancies, which comprise about 10 percent of the plaza.

With Williams-Sonoma, the center has managed to fill a 17,500 square-foot anchor space which was vacated after Michaels relocated to the Nut Tree Plaza in 2014. An offshoot of the popular upscale retail brand, the outlet store will sell some of its household items like cookware, kitchen accessories, pillows, towels, gourmet goods and “everything you would see in the urban retail centers,” according to ProEquity Managing Director Tyler Sheldon.

“This fits in line with the outlet concept, which is definitely in vogue in Vacaville,” he said.

Sheldon said Williams-Sonoma was also a decent fit with the plaza’s other tenants as well as other nearby shopping centers like Vacaville Premium Outlets, Vacaville Commons and other destinations.

“We think it’s a nice fit for the area, and it’s a center that we’ve always had confidence in,” he said. “We’re just happy to give it some attention and find the right fit.”

Sheldon was excited about the prospects the new anchor store could bring.

“We’re thrilled to have Williams-Sonoma Home and the energy that they’re gonna bring to our center as well as to the region,” he said. “They had a push that they wanted to open up for the coming holiday season, and we’re excited to see the greater economic impact that it can have on Vacaville as a whole.”

The Williams-Sonoma Home Outlet will open at 10 a.m. Friday at 1051 Helen Power Drive, next to Sprouts. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The store will also be posting on the Instagram account @wsvacaville.
